Characteristics of the Xenon N2 safety barrier

The N2 barrier meets the criteria of the European Standard EN 1317-2. This N2 barrier is able to hold :

  • A light vehicle (with an average mass of 900 kg) at an impact speed of 100 km/h.
  • Passenger vehicles with an average mass of 1500 kg at an impact speed of 110 km/h.

The tests accrediting this type of barrier are the TB11 type tests for the retention of light vehicles and TB32 for passenger vehicles. N2 safety barriers have a strong angle of containment : the impact angle is 20 degrees.

The XENON N2 barrier is a device fixed to a longitudinal beam using chemical anchoring.
